Innovating Access to Care, One Project at a Time

OUR STORY

Boundless Medical was founded by two Victoria-based family doctors, Dr. Bax and Dr. Shapiro. We shared a deep concern for patients falling through the cracks of the healthcare system. Working in a busy walk-in clinic, we often met people in crisis, not because of sudden illness, but because they had nowhere else to go. Preventable issues had become emergencies. Preventive care just wasn’t accessible for many.

When the COVID-19 pandemic began, centralized solutions were slow to arrive. Rather than wait, we took action investing in our own PCR machines and offering physician-led COVID testing that prioritized access and clinical care.

As the pandemic wound down, we retired our testing service and asked ourselves: What else is falling through the cracks?

That question led us to cancer screening, a critical part of preventative care that remains out of reach for many, especially those without a regular family doctor. Today, that’s where our focus lies. Through CanScreen, we’re helping bridge the gap between patients and the life-saving screenings they deserve.

Boundless Medical is small by design. We take on one project at a time so we can do it right, while continuing to care for our own family practice patients and support local nursing homes. By working closely with community partners, health system stakeholders, and fellow providers, we aim to bridge the gaps that others can’t, or won’t fill.

We may not be big, but we are deeply committed. Step by step, project by project, we’re doing what we can, where we are, to build a more accessible healthcare system for everyone.
